Biographical and Professional Information
Kathie Berguist’s writing has been published in Girlfriends magazine, Out, The Advocate, Curve, and Diva. Born in Minneapolis, she moved to Chicago in 1989. She’s honed her observational skills in the field, having worked at both Women and Children First and Unabridged Bookstores in Chicago, and by writing a long-running lesbian nightlife column, “The Kathie Klub” for the Chicago gay weekly Nightlines.
Currently, Bergquist is the City Editor of the Not For Tourists™ Guide to Chicago and a regular food contributor to the Chicago Reader. She holds a BA in Creative Writing from Columbia College Chicago, and lives on the northwest side of the city.
