Biographical and Professional Information
Nina Barrett is a journalist and author who lives in the Chicago area. She earned a degree in Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Arts from the Cooking and Hospitality Institute of Chicago (CHIC) and has worked in several Chicago restaurant kitchens. Her food adventure stories for Eight Forty-Eight earned Currently, she contributes food feature stories to Chicago Public Radio/WBEZ’s magazine show “Eight Forty-Eight,” earning the show a nomination for a James Beard Foundation award in 2010. Her articles and reviews have appeared in The Nation, The New York Times Sunday Magazine, Publishers Weekly, the Chicago Tribune, the Chicago Sun-Times, the Cleveland Plain Dealer, and many other publications, and is the author/editor of four books.
