The Crystal Skull Files, published as a trade paperback with 152 pages of comics features a full-color front and back cover and measures 8 1/2 by 11 inches. There is an 82-page graphic novel (novel-length comic book story) about the First Amendment feature Myke Feinman's maverick journalist Terry Freedom. The story is set in 1936 and is a sequel to Feinman's first graphic novel, The Mask Conspiracy published in 1991. The book also contains comics by many other cartoonists, including a drawing by Mad Magazine and Groo the Wanderer cartoonitst Sergio Araganes who drew a portrait of Terry Freedom in the special Terry Freedom gallery. The gallery features the talents of many famous and not-so-famous cartoonists.
The story takes Freedom and his band of adventurer/journalists across the globe to foil the plans of a crazy scientist who plans to blow up the moon in order to control the world's weather patterns.
