ISBN: 0932702244

Creative Pub. Co. 1982

First Edition First Printing Limited to 1,500. 8vo Index, biblio, notes, 38 b/w illus. At the instersection of El Paso Street and San Antonio Avenue in downtown El Paso, a bronze plaque affixed to the Hotel Paso del Norte reads: "Four men in five seconds. Near this spot on April 14, 1881, four men were shot to death at almost the same instant, and newspapers as far away as Santa Fe, Kansas City and Chicago hit the streets with headlines which screamed 'Blood Battle,' and 'War Raging in El Paso.' Since then, Campbell has been portrayed as the villain, Stoudenmire as the hero. Fred Egloff has corrected the legend, providing us with the true character of George Campbell, El Paso's marshal in 1880. Hardcover Lawmen
