Biographical and Professional InformationWith over 20 years in the design industry, Cindy Coleman has achieved a diverse range of experiences in interior architecture from project designer for Skidmore, Owings & Merrill and ISD Incorporated in Chicago and in industrial design developing, manufacturing and marketing her own company, Align Incorporated. In 1998 Cindy Coleman and Neil Frankel established the independent studio Frankel + Coleman focusing on architecture, design and journalism. In 1994 Ms. Coleman initiated her role in design journalism by becoming Executive Editor of ''Perspective'' magazine, published by the International Interior Design Association (IIDA). Currently, Coleman is a Contributing Editor of ''Interior Design'' magazine and The Chicago Chapter of the American Institute of Architect (CCAIA) journal, ''Chicago Architect''. Aside from her current position as Assistant Professor at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago in the department of Architecture, Interior Architecture and Designed Objects, Coleman is also Project Coordinator for the collaboration between the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and the City of Chicago to build public awareness of the benefits of a sustainable community.Along with the books written below, Coleman also edited the book, ''Interior Design Handbook of Professional Practice''.
