Biographical and Professional Information

Ben draws his inspiration from his parents, his mother, Candace, teaches third grade at Grand Park Elementary in Oswego. His dad, Lloyd, is a retired Aurora police officer. Popp, who graduated from West High in 2009, credits both parents for his career choices. He created “Nature’s Elders” after his mom said there is a lack of children’s science books, and he is studying criminal justice at Waubonsee Community College as his “back-up plan.” He works on a tree crew for the Fox Valley Park District.
