The Width and Wisdom of Chairman Jimmy
ISBN: 1456322788 CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform. 2011 Chock full of original aphorisms, essays, cartoons, poems, tributes, song lyrics, letters to the editor and myriad other kinds of writing, there's never been a book quite like this-a literary food court, a bevy of brain lozenges that will have you grinding your teeth and scratching your scalp till it bleeds, laughing all the way to the ER. While he's no Andy Rooney, George Carlin, Dave Barry, P.J. O'Rourke or Dennis Miller, his devotees have foolishly made such comparisons. This book comprises Chairman Jimmy's Greatest Hits, jammed with sneering, silly, cynical and occasionally valuable insights and observations by America's last undiscovered, curmudgeonly iconoclast. An advertising copywriter by day, Chairman Jimmy has been shoving his stick in the cosmic beehive for 30 years as a columnist, essayist and occasional speaker. Chairman Jimmy draws from his own unique life experiences-attending Monterey Pop at18, jamming on stage with Jack Bruce at 29,nearly dying of perforated diverticulitis at 35, authoring the tagline that launched one of the longest continuous ad campaigns of the last half century, which, curiously, doesn't appear in this book.
