Kolb lived in Illinois for over twelve years. She first moved to Illinois in 2003, living in North Chicago. Three years later, she moved to live in southern Illinois near the Shawnee National Forest. She obtained her LPN at Shawnee Community College, in Ullin and studied creative writing at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale.

Biographical and Professional Information

Julie Kolb was born and raised in Paducah, Kentucky - just across the Ohio river from Metropolis, Illinois. Her first children's book was a present for her granddaughter's tenth birthday. It was inspired after a summer visit. She's had several articles published by local papers including the ''Vienna Times'', and the ''St. Louis Post Dispatch''.
