Biographical and Professional InformationG E Murray had been a poetry critic for the Chicago Tribune and Chicago Magazine. He was chair of Pen Midwest and a national board member of Pen America Center. Murray wrote eight collections of poetry, his last titled "Arts of a Cold Sun" and published by the University of Illinois Press in 2003. He also co-edited, with Illinois Poet Laureate Kevin Stein, "Illinois Voices: An Anthology of Twentieth-Century Poetry." Mr. Murray's poetry appeared in nearly 100 literary magazines and were included in more than a dozen anthologies.
