Biography: Michael Duffy was born and raised on Chicago's far north side in a neighborhood called east Rogers Park. In the 1950s and 1960s east Rogers Park was an Irish and Jewish enclave housing many European immigrants who arrived after World War II. After graduation from High School Mr. Duffy was quickly drafted into the U.S. Army and became part of the huge military force headed to fight in Vietnam. After his Vietnam tour of duty he enrolled into Colorado College, a small liberal arts college in Colorado Springs. While at Colorado College he began painting and writing about his Vietnam Experiences. From Chicago to Vietnam is Mr. Duffy's first book. His work is not a "shoot-em-up" war book but rather the story of a young man caught up in a tumultuous era.
