Steph Plant

Connection to Illinois: Plant lives in Edwardsville. Biography: Steph Plant is a Montessori trained singer/songwriter and children's book author/illustrator. Her current published book based on her song "Slithering Snake" has become a favorite in schools, libraries, and homes around the world since it's completion in 2017. In 2019 she recorded her first children's album "Moth Wings & Other Things" which features 12 enchanting original songs inspired by the natural world. Steph received her B.A. in Fine Arts from Greenville University in 2009 and was trained at the Montessori Training Center of St Louis to be certified as an AMI primary guide in 2014. She worked as a teacher for three years before giving birth to her first-born son and now works with her books, music, and active toddler full time.
