Pen Name: None Connection to Illinois: Major was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. She has lived in Carbondale, Decatur and Charleston, where I began collaborating on a series of children's books with Mia Dawson and illustrator, Chloe Vecellio. Biography: Brenda Major is an educator, having served as director of admissions for three Illinois universities. She currently serves as director of academic services for a community based organization in Decatur, Illinois. This collaborative venture with Mia Dawson and illustrator Chloe Vecellio, fulfills a life-long dream to be a published author of children's tales. It is our desire that this series of adventures captures the hearts of children and touches the child in every adult. We want to instill the love of reading and the joy of friendship and self-discovery with this first installment, ''Neo an the Blue Balloon''. Our books are designed to be read aloud and shared with the family. Each book contains a bonus section including a devotional and questions parents can discuss with their children.
