Andrew Snorton

Born: Normal, Illinois
Connection to Illinois: Snorton was born in Normal.

Biography: The Wake Forest University alumnus makes his debut as an author in 2017 with the release of "Deeper than your deepest sleep: thoughts on love with Joseph Snorton", a poetic retelling of his connection with a long lost family member. Delving into the action and energy behind love (i.e. family, friends community, people past and present, along with self-reflection), it digs deep into the mindset of men and what love means to them through different lenses. His 2018 release "9 stories of faith: volume 1" is an interview-based piece where people open up on what their biggest daily challenge is (ranging from physical or mental health challenges, life after incarceration, and other life challenges). Even bigger than their daily challenge is how they keep it in perspective and live lives of positivity and purpose. Through their respective faith (i.e. Christianity, Hinduism, or Islam), use of best practices in health and wellness, their support network (of family and friends), and how they change their way of thinking, it is an empowering read. In 2020, "nothing Minor: a 2019 summer journey covering minor league baseball" provides a bridge between the casual and die-hard baseball fan. Focusing on coverage of teams in the Carolinas, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, and Mississippi, there's ample stats, interviews with players (including an emerging audience of Black players), and special features (including the Negro Southern League Museum). His October 2022 release, "quotes and notes: something's on the horizon"; is a positive, powerful, and accessible way to simply pause, reboot, reimagine, and simply get closer to getting where you are trying to go. The compilation of original thoughts, idea, and quotes are designed to encourage and empower, yet stimulate and motivate you to "go beyond". Likewise, having space to generate your thoughts to tap into the gifts and talents you haven't realized yet is the even bigger and greater goal. His audiobook series, "The Author's Mixtape", is an innovative freestyle music and spoken word experience. All writing and recording are done in studio in a single take, providing an exhilarating listening experience given the influences of jazz, hip-hop, and gospel. He's a participating author and/or speaker for festivals including (but not limited to) the Mississippi Book Festival (2017-19, 2022), East of the River Book Festival (2018 in Washington, DC), Detroit Book City Festivals (2018, 2020), along with the Juneteenth Festivals in Bloomington, IL and Lincoln, IL (2022). Combined with interviews with multiple outlets across the country, including Talk of Alabama (ABC 33/40 in Birmingham, AL/July 2022), Intellectual Radio's Drive at 5 with Roman Morrow (September 2021 and June 2022 in Westchester/Greater Chicago, IL) along with nominations from the Author Academy Awards (2019's "Top 1000" nominee) and the Atlanta-based Black Only Awards (2021 Best Author), he's a growing presence in the literary field.

ISBN: B0BFVCNK1B OCLC:

Independently Published 2022

There's something on the horizon; it's because there's something MORE inside of YOU. Engage in a journey of more than just some creative quotes ranging from the humorous to the serious. It's about pausing, rebooting, reflecting, and with just enough journaling, slowing down the moving parts so we can set the foundation for just seeing where we really are heading and want to really go. With each quote, there's a look at the logic and rationale, but even bigger is providing YOU with an opportunity to not only agree or disagree, but remap your own path and way by jotting down just enough of your thoughts and ideas to go where you are trying to go. Be it professionally or personally, we all can "pump our brakes" and just get closer to getting things a little clearer without being so heavy handed. Go deep, but just deep enough. Write it down, but write down just enough. And get ready to tap in to the hidden you that is waiting to reveal itself for your continued progression. Make note from simple, accessible, and powerful quotes.
