George William Hunter

Pen Name: None Connection to Illinois: Hunter began his Chicago connection when he became in 1896 a fellow in Zoology at the University of Chicago. Biography: George Hunter worked at the University of Chicago, Hyde Park High School in Chicago and spent 6 years at Knox Gollege in Galesburg, Illinois. He wrote Civic Biology, the text at the center of the Scopes 'monkey' trial.
