Connection to Illinois: Cinelli grew up in the Chicago area. She has a BFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She also teaches Children's Book Illustration at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and teaches at Marwen Foundation, a Chicago based Arts Program for grades 6-12. Cinelli currently resides in Highland Park, Illinois.

Biography: Cinelli is a painter, author/illustrator and teaching artist. She grew up in and around Chicago, Illinois. At an early age she learned to navigate public transportation, notebook and pencil in hand, and often visited one of her favorite places in the world, The Art Institute of Chicago, where she has taught since 1994. She has also developed and teaches workshops for high school students in the Chicago Metropolitan Area participating in one of the Chicago Botanic Garden’s Fairchild Challenges.
