Biography: Ed Avis has written articles for the Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun-Times, Crain's Chicago Business, and dozens of other publications. He owned book publisher Marion Street Press, Inc. in Oak Park from 1993 to 2009. He is currently publisher of ''el Restaurante'', a trade magazine for owners/managers of Mexican other Latin-cuisine restaurants.
