Since McMurty was not a resident of Illinois, but a noted Lincoln Scholar - an Illinois subject of interest - his only books listed in the Illinois Authors Wiki are about Lincoln related subjects. Biography: McMurty was not a resident of Illinois, but he was an extensive Lincoln Scholar and gave interviews at the University of Illinois Springfield - formerly known as Sangamon State University. He was succeeded by Mark E. Neely Jr. who was co-author of this book.
